About the MSE Lab: MSE Technology Applications, Inc. offers customers a qualified team of scientists, regulatory experts and experienced technicians to staff the MSE Lab. Originally established in 1978, the MSE Lab is a certified, full-service commercial laboratory in Butte, Montana, that performs analyses for a variety of public and private clients. Our location and experience allows us to offer clients specific, direct, and state-of-the-art services. Located adjacent to the Silver Bow Creek/Butte Area National Priorities List (NPL) site provides us with a familiarity with local Superfund activities and regulations. We also have four award-winning, nationally and internationally known engineering universities within a 200-mile radius including Montana Tech of the University of Montana, ranked as one of the top five science and engineering colleges in the United States. This resource allows us to select highly qualified additions to our work force and keep up to date on technology issues and advances.

 

Because of our location and experience, much of our work involves analyses related to the evaluation and remediation of Superfund sites. Consequently, we have equipped our laboratory with state of the art instrumentation and equipment suited to the analysis of water, solid waste, soils, limes, composts, metals, inorganic metals, and non-metals. Rigorous quality assurance programs to ensure defensible results encompass everything we do. We also offer services to meet virtually any state or federal regulatory requirement.

 

Certifications/Quality Assurance: The MSE Lab is certified by the State of Montana's Environmental Laboratory to analyze samples from public drinking water systems in Montana. The certification applies to the analysis of a variety of metal contaminants and other parameters. The lab also has a Soil Import Permit (from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)) that allows soil samples to be imported to our lab through any U.S. port of entry. Services: The MSE Lab will provide services to meet virtually any state or federal regulatory requirement pursuant to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). The MSE Lab extends MSE's services to include providing a variety of sample analyses, including the following:
